Our CEO and Founder, Nihal Chauhan, recently had the privilege of participating in and moderating a high-level roundtable on “Building a Future-Ready Tech Ecosystem.” Co-hosted by the Korean Embassy in New Delhi and the Ananta Aspen Centre, the discussion brought together leading voices from India and South Korea to explore the growing confluence of security, economics, and technology—and what it means for both nations.

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, H.E. Lee Seong-ho, opened the session with a powerful statement on how a country’s external engagements now closely align with its national security objectives. From Korea’s side, Dr. Cho Choongjae (Director, KIEP New Delhi Office), Prof. Lee Soon-Cheul (Director, India Centre in Korea), and Sean (Hyunil) Sohn (CEO, Krafton India) shared key perspectives on the future of tech collaboration. Representing India were Former Army Commander Lieutenant General Raj Shukla and Amlan Mohanty (Non-resident Research Fellow at Carnegie India and Associate Research Fellow at the Centre for Responsible AI, IIT Madras).

Over the course of the roundtable, Nihal Chauhan and the panel delved into:
Emerging core technologies and defense industries: With India and South Korea both focusing on advanced manufacturing and defense R&D, there is immense scope for shared innovation and investment.
Online gaming as an economic driver: The global boom in gaming offers fresh avenues for collaboration, from IP creation to international esports and developer ecosystems.
Security, economics, and technology intersection: As digital capabilities reshape national security paradigms, bilateral cooperation in cyber resilience and infrastructure is gaining critical importance.
Recognizing the strides both nations have made, panelists agreed there is still enormous potential for further growth. The depth of expertise and enthusiasm in both countries hints that India and South Korea are merely scratching the surface of what they can achieve together—particularly in fast-evolving sectors like AI, robotics, and extended reality platforms.
A special thank you to Indrani Bagchi and the team at the Ananta Aspen Centre for curating this timely conversation. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and fostering meaningful partnerships that can propel India–South Korea relations to new heights.
